One block from the Eiffel Tower lies this massive rust-coloured bunker designed by Jean Nouvel, created to hold the French collection of world art. It’s an impressive, although slightly disjointed, mishmash of ethnic artefacts and art objects, housed in an equally impressive building, complete with a living wall designed by Patrick Blanc and a delightful garden. If that’s not impressive enough, then make it up to the fifth floor Les Ombres restaurant, whose prices are just as breathtaking as the formidable views of the Eiffel Tower.
