Like a good man, a good cup of coffee can be hard to find in Paris, but now the cosy Café Loustic brews up some excellent espressos, lattes, filter and iced coffees just a few blocks behind the Centre Pompidou.

Not that it’s all coffee. Owner Channa Galhenage originates from London so there’s also a healthy assortment of teas, as well as hot cocoa, fresh OJ and plenty of options for sating the appetite. They stock goods from The Kale Project, but for the less health-obsessed there are delicious soups, paninis and quiches, as well as fresh madeleines, sumptuous cakes and muffins to indulge your sweet tooth.

Like the nearby brunch fave Café Pinson, the place has been designed by CHZON, Dorothée Meilichzon’s hot hot hot interior design studio. And like that place, the result is impeccable, stylish while retaining a pleasant, neighbourhood feel – perfect for a shot of java, a chatty brunch or a few hours with your laptop or tablet.
