Nüba is another place from the guys behind Le Baron. And just like the cool kids in school, that may not be the most gregarious lot but the ones that everybody are still gagging to party with; it’s been a massive hit on the Parisian hipster scene since its opening.

It sits on the rooftop next to Wanderlust at Les Docks en Seine but like an older, more grown-up sibling, and also attracts a slightly older – though equally mixed – crowd. Sporting deck chairs, string lights and an electro soundtrack, Nüba’s massive terrace rocks a chilled garden vibe that’s more typical of Berlin than the French capital.

While the terrace is open throughout the day and the nightclub goes till late, dusk is the best time to enjoy the sunset views. There’s also the possibility of a proper sit-down meal at the restaurant or a cheaper bite at the communal tables from the food stands (around EUR 15 for a bento box-style menu with a choice of beef, fish and veggies and a selection of sides).

Less elitist than Le Baron or Le Montana, you can get in without looking like a model or be on first name basis with André but the door bitches can still show plenty of attitude and they’re prone to keep a queue for show, so do make an effort (or book a dinner table). And easier access naturally comes with a flipside: the rest of the crowd hasn’t been as heavily filtered either.
