By bus, La Sepulvedana runs regular buses every half hour throughout the day from Estación Sur de Autobuses http://www.lasepulvedana.es/.

If you still harbour secret fantasies of meeting your prince, you could do worse than start in Segovia and the nearby Palacio Real de La Granja de San Ildefonso. Modelled on Versailles, the 18th century royal palace combines French refinement with the natural austerity of Castille and the odd bit of Italian flair, and has often been credited as the model for Disney’s castles.

Once you’ve had your fill of fairytales, head on to the iconic Roman aqueducts and Segovia proper, both UNESCO World Heritage sites. Check out the Alcazar, the impressive Cathedral, and the Church of Vera Cruz, founded by the Knights Templar, before trying out a cochinillo (roasted suckling pig) in the main square.
