Metro Liverpool Street [Central, Circle, Hammersmith & City, Metropolitan], Old Street [Northern], Farringdon [Hammersmith & City, Circle, Metropolitan], Barbican [Hammersmith & City, Circle, Metropolitan]

Designer studios from the likes of Henry Holland, Alexander McQueen and Richard Nicholl set up here, making the East End a hub of grimey London creativity – so you’re much less likely to find the ubiquitous Arcadia brands. Start is great for a well-edited selection of premium names as well as beautiful tailoring, Bread & Honey are street-wear afficianados, No-One is small but perfectly formed, and Jeanette’s is the new kid on the block with amazing design cred and an insider track with lots of limited editions and one-offs. Make sure to stop by Spitalfields Market to try and suss out the next big thing, as young designers and businesses battle it out at over 100 stalls and of course, take a wander down Brick Lane for authentic curries, bizarre jewellery from Tatty Devine, and the Old Truman Brewery where you will find more independent designers on weekends.
