Some guys have surely turned up at Stokey Bears and left sorely disappointed. It only sounds like a honey pot for hot and hairy daddy locals but instead of a manly tumble with a side of rough, you’ll have to make do with a burger, fries and craft beer.

At least both burgers and the East Dulwich Bear Hug Brewing beers are very good. The Grizzly Bear bacon cheese burger, served in a glazed brioche bun with their signature bacon ham, is probably one the tastiest in town and there are another six varieties to choose from, including a vegetarian bean burger, as well as hot wings and a beef dog.

There’s also a soundtrack of upbeat dance classics to cheers you up and the retro set-up with old, defaced school desks is fun. Still, is it worth crossing town for? Perhaps if you combine it with a visit to the downstairs Original Sin cocktail bar and make a night out of it. This bear might get you chubbed up after all.
