“Twas brillig, and the slithy toves did gyre and gimble in the wabe.” Yes the inspiration behind this quirky bar’s name has been taken from the famous nonsense poem, Jabberwocky, so take your cue from author Lewis Carroll and enjoy a little magic and madness with your martini.

Cute as a button, full of funky design details (ever wanted to see a cassette-taped bathroom wall?), and a bit of an insider secret, the guys behind the cocktails here really know their stuff, serving up ‘Freddy Fuddpucker’s Frabjouse Friends’, ‘Hell in a Hand Basket’ and ‘Fratterwacken’ to a crowd of City bankers and Shoreditch hipsters.

If you’re out to impress, try and get access to the not-so-secret upstairs bar, The Jub Jub, a locked-up members-only space entered through the corner wardrobe that also takes you to the toilets, and inhabited by a series of guest bartenders making up bespoke taste flights of some of the world’s most exclusive spirits. To get hold of a key, apply for membership beforehand – free, but only granted to those demonstrating a genuine interest in the cocktails.
