Almost every city has its double-decker sightseeing bus but in Copenhagen you’ll want to jump onto a canal boat (there is a bus, but skip it). Even if you usually avoid these kinds of butt-in-seat passive tourist activities, you’ll most likely enjoy this one.

Two companies offer a nearly identical kanalrundfart, canal tour, so you can just as well use Netto Bådene which has the better deal (DFDS is the other). Both take about an hour and pass all the main sights including the royal palace, The Little Mermaid (the young lady is safely back from the Expo in Shanghai), and Christianshavn, with running commentary in Danish, English, German and whatever other languages the guides master (strangely, nearly all girls).

Fresh air, wind in the hair, pretty sights, and probably your cheapest one hour spent in Copenhagen. What’s not to like?
