Most people may know it only for its iconic Zaha Hadid-designed annex, but Ordrupgaard is also home to one of Europe’s finest collections of French impressionism, including works by Matisse, Monet and Renoir.

Located just north of Copenhagen near the idyllic Dyrehaven park (named after the numerous deers that run wild), the museum houses important works by Danish and French 19th and early 20th century painters in the mansion of the private collector who originally founded it. Well worth a visit, be it for the art, the architecture or a walk in the park.
