Rather ironically placed under a giant cow statue in Kødbyen, the too-cool-for-school meatpacking district, is Fiskebaren, the city’s best new fish restaurant. White flesh has replaced the once carnal red hooks in this converted warehouse, which now looks like a proper wet-room, with white-tiled walls and rough concrete floors as the backdrop for the freshly hauled North Sea scallops, sole, mussels and oysters on the menu.

Buzzing, hip and trendy, with a hypnotic live jellyfish display and private parties held by the likes of Richard Branson, the service is surprisingly welcoming and the food itself is actually great. And so it should be, with an ex-Noma team member behind the all-seafood concept (there’s also a carnivore and vegetarian option) that will have you yearning for more, not least because the serving sizes are either diet-friendly or just plain small. But hey, skinny is still the new black.
