This could well be the first time that you don’t actually want to leave a soccer stadium. Spectacular panoramic views, design classics and first class gourmet at Geranium in tower H have made Parken, Denmark’s national stadium a destination for gastro hounds who couldn’t care less for the beautiful game.

There are gels and foams among the gourmet treats but, rather than molecular gastronomy, it’s the excellent execution of French cuisine with a distinct Danish touch – smoked potatoes, mussels, monkfish, local herbs – that's the real draw. It's new Nordic cuisine at its best and, apart from the more experimental variant championed at Noma, you won't find much better showcases than the set menus here.

In the kitchen are friends Søren Ledet and Rasmus Kofoed, whose names may not ring a bell – yet. Kofoed is among the world’s hottest young chefs – winner of the prestigious Bocuse d’Or prize in 2011, the unofficial world championship for chefs.  They've already gotten their second Michelin star and their place on the San Pellegrino The World's 50 Best Restaurants list, but expect more to come.
