If you hadn’t noticed, Copenhagen has grown into quite the micro brewery hotspot, building on the success of beer makers such as Evil Twin, To Øl and Mikkeller. The founders of those last two are also backers of this place but there’s plenty to like about Mikropolis, even if you aren’t the greatest fan of stouts, ales or single hops.

In addition to the selection of beers that changes every week, you’ll also find a range of cocktails here, on tap or made to order. Some of the concoctions are beer-inspired; all have a touch of home-crafting using their own home-brewed mixers and spirits from micro distilleries. Indecisive? Get a chaser set of a beer and a cocktail for a crisp 100 kroner note.

The interior is similar to the Mikkeller beer bars but the presence of sofa seating make this a more comfortable place for a drink. It’s really not a bad way of easing your way into the microbrew scene which can otherwise be an intimidating affair. While you’re in the neighbourhood, consider taking a walk around the lakes or grabbing a bite at Torvehallerne.
