Though out and proud, Paris concedes that Pride was conceived the other side of the Atlantic. A symbol of the embrace of the stateside roots of Pride was the mega parties of recent years, including the first [officially] gay F*** Me I’m Famous party at the Zenith hosted by hunky DJ husband David Guetta and wife Cathy with Kelly Rowland.
Other parties usually include Happy Pulse at Mix Club for a younger, go lucky crowd, while gym bunnies will find like-minded revellers at the Que Fuerte pride party at l’Elysée Montmartre, while we can expect another Spirit of Star extravaganza somewhere in town (last year it was held at the legendary Crazy Horse).
Should the idea of a big-ticket club night not appeal then enjoy the route of the pride march which slices through the Left Bank from Montparnasse at 14:00 and ends up at the Bastille for a pink revolution of al fresco fun – and just a short walk from the Marais where bars will be full to bursting of party pride people.
This is certainly the night when Paris lets its hair down, and the traditional Parisian snootiness is off limits for the night.
