If your taste errs more towards the simple, you’ll appreciate the peaceful setting and unpretentious design of this two-star property set in the Saint Germain Des Pres quarter. Whilst close enough to all of the major Left Bank attractions, this old mansion still maintains a very residential feel on a quiet street surrounded by greenery and is great for antiquing at nearby markets and romantic meals at local restaurants. OK, so it’s not exactly as monastically restrained as its namesake might like, but for elegantly designed, comfortable rooms, friendly staff and outrageous value, it certainly is saintly.
