Those looking to keep it light on calories and heavy in style head to this recent Japanese-themed, canteen-style addition to the restaurant scene in the groovy 10th.

Pushed by a group of heavy hitters from the world of cool that includes Kaori Endo of Rose Bakery fame in the kitchen, ad genius Jean-Marie Tassy, and Lionel Bensemoun from hotspots Le Baron and La Fidelité, it naturally follows that it’s been an instant hit with the fashion pack but – more surprisingly – the main draw has proven to be the bentos.

Served not in boxes but on clean trays of portioned white dishes there are dainty meat, fish and vegetarian options alongside super fresh salads. À la carte options include more salads, mini brioche pizzas, soups and a dessert array that’ll make you thankful for the Speedo-accommodating calorie count on your main. Go to the counter and sample the treats before placing your order.

Keeping things healthy is the organic juices squeezed onsite, whilst market boxes of fresh produce litter the counters should you feel inspired to take the good diet deed home with you – after all, what could be less ‘fashion’ than eating in public? For those based in Marais, a second site has opened at 57 rue Charlot (open Tue-Wed 11-18. Thu-Sat 11-24. Sun 11-18).
