Round design delights are on offer either for take-out, bicycled home delivery with a T-shirt to go, canal-side pink-nik – you take your place by the nearby canal and they’ll locate you by the helium-filled balloon tied to your wrist – or at table in the black and pink diner space. Cosy, convivial, and just the place to split a pizza with your bella fella.
The organic dough on offer ruffles even the coolest feathers in this trendiest of quartiers. A range of thin base pizzas are heavy with ideas for topping. From gorgonzola, figs and Auvergne ham on the Le Basquiat and slices of salmon and creme fraiche on the coolest pizza, Le Bjork, to a veritable thicket of rocket and parmesan foliage on Le Marcello. Overcome the agony of the choice of toppings and have a true bonding experience with the cute roller cutter supplied so you can slice as you like.
And the sweet menu reflects the stateside ownership of this pizzeria: Cheesecake and pecan pie all served up with lashings of metrosexuality. After all, it shares its name with an early John Waters classic and, no doubt, Divine’s appetite for pizza.
