L'AS DU FALLAFEL

Only a few blocks from the gay ghetto, and still in Le Marais, you’ll find yourself on rue des Rosiers, the centre of the Jewish community in Paris. Gays are outnumbered at least two to one by falafel stands here, so when somebody claims to make the world’s best falafel sandwich and it goes relatively uncontested, then you start paying attention. The shawarmas from l’As du Fallafel are scrumptious, too, but it’s the falafel sandwich, loaded with tahini, cabbage, hummus, eggplant and hot sauce at will, that has people queuing up on Sunday.
