If you are tiring of sushi, sick of salads, bored with bavettes, then try this latest hipster snack. Long dismissed as just an old fashioned staple of a family holiday landscape, the Breton crêpe put the out in moded, but no longer: Ahoy there, the crepe is now looming large on the hipster vista in Paris! Be at the forefront of a relaunch of an old fashioned comfort food!

Single-handedly, Breizh Cafe has brought the humble crêpe to a new Bobo audience direct from Cancale on the Atlantic coast of Brittany (they even have an outpost in Tokyo). The makeover is a real stretch of the imagination – these 21st century crepes are a long way from bog standard, saucy postcard crêpe suzettes.

Toppings are for all seasons and offerings and come both savoury and sweet. Go for a Vendangeur – a riot of foliage with nuggets of goats cheese – and finish off with a buckwheat crêpe dripping in honey and oozing caramel ice cream. Scrummy! And on the drinks list are all manner of varieties of cider and even Celtic coke, plus one step beyond – Breton Coke lite.
