Having thrown their self-confessed ‘biggest French gay parties’ for almost twenty years at various locations, Scream Club has finally settled down here, just off Place de la République, lodged in the basement below bossa nova party Favela Chic.
Hosting the likes of Lady Gaga and DJs including Peter Rauhofer, gym bunnies and their admirers roll into this underground – in the literal meaning of the word – dance den every Saturday for their weekly clubbing fix. Hot (again, literally) and sweaty, it does help to have a body that permits whipping off your shirt.
More moans than screams are heard in the extraordinarily busy, no-holds-barred darkroom, but with two dance floors, a reasonably hot crowd and an usual excellent line-up of DJs playing house, pop and dance, this club night should at least make you squeal.
