An extraordinary study of what it means to be a true super-brand of the 21st century, this monogrammed megalith stands out amongst the otherwise understated luxury on the sainted Champs-Élysées. After a complete refurb in 2005 courtesy of American architect Eric Carlson, Vuitton’s French flagship is as much a destination must-see as a shopping experience. Products are displayed in retail pockets found across four floors of terraces reached via hidden passages and stairways, whilst the seventh floor plays host to an impressive art gallery, reachable only by a 40 second trip in Olafur Eliasson’s pitch black elevator. Other notable pieces include sound and light installations by James Turrell and Tim White-Sobieski. Un peu de Louis? Mais oui.
