Whilst smaller and older than the neighbouring Galeries Lafayette, some would say the cosier atmosphere is what makes it. Printemps, established in 1865, is split into 5 ‘universes’; Beauty, The Art of Living, Accessories, Fashion and Men, and stocks tailoring by Christian Dior, Kenzo and Lanvin, contemporary names such as Paul Smith, Helmut Lang and Martin Margiela, and shoes by Prada, Bally and Todd’s to name a few. Retire to the Nickel Institute in the basement for some much needed pampering.
