What’s that old saying about people in glass houses not throwing stones? To be fair, you’d have very little to bitch about from within this super modern hotel, formerly part of the Costes empire and located a stone’s throw (yep, we did say it) away from the Eiffel Tower and set around a Zen central garden.
Taking inspiration from Japanese minimalism, rooms at the Ascott (previously the Costes K) are spacious and simple, with wall to wall windows which let in buckets of light around sycamore wood furniture and low-slung beds dressed in white linen. Forget a glass half-full, in terms of design tastiness, this one’s brimming over.

Ideally situated between the Trocadero and the Champs Elysees, the hotel is unique in Paris for its contemporary elegance and pure lines conceived by the Spaniard Ricardo Bofill. The interiors are generous and simple and feature white on white and a Zen feel. Embodying timeless elegance, the hotel is a unique and superb oasis of tranquility in the heart of Paris. A sophisticated decor is married to a sense of traditional details. The finest materials, such as polished stucco, marble, colored sycamore and immaculate glass facade that lets in natural lighting make for a remarkable contrast with traditional French buildings.
