LADURéE LE BAR

You may know them best for their array of perfectly formed, candy coloured macaroons, but Ladurée aren’t resting on their sugar-puffed laurels. Afternoon tea and sweet treats covered, they’ve moved on to Le Bar where you’ll find alcoholic fancies (including macaroon cocktails) and gourmet savoury snacks. Designed by antiques expert Roxane Rodriguez, the bar wisely stays away from the girly décor of the Laduree tearooms, veering towards a contemporary take on the Art Nouveau – or Disney-esque, you could say. With stained glass windows around a circular resin bar and intricate metallic stools cut to look like the veins on a leaf, you feel as though you (and the butterflies flitting across the walls) are sitting inside a beautifully shattered crystal cocoon.
