Danny Meyer began his career in New York City at the age of 25 when he opened Union Square Cafe. Today, six of his restaurants, such as the famous Shake Shack and Gramercy Tavern, are in the Union Square vicinity with the square’s Farmer’s Market taking a huge role. His latest restaurant The Modern is appropriately located in the MoMA.
