European hunting lodge sensibility meets American contemporary style at this boutique hotel buried in the Financial District. If the idea of Prince William’s bachelor pad with lots of leather and wooden furniture blows your tartan skirt up, you’ll enjoy this hotel.
Rooms come with New York signature items such as Kiehl’s products and mini bars stocked by Dean & Deluca, and boutique staples like Sferra linens and robes by Frette. A great hotel with just one big downside: location, unless you’ve got business to do on Wall Street. Expect the streets to be crowded on the weekdays, but an absolute ghost town on nights and weekends.

Forget about tired Nineties minimalism — this place is full of character, right down to the split-level library and champagne bar, complete with fully-functioning books (pages and all) and clubby leather sofas. This, one imagines, is where the masters of the financial universe come to unwind after the closing bell.
