It seems André Balazs can do no wrong: fans of The Standard hotel group will love this latest addition to the brand, an eight-seater sea-plane employed to shuttle guests (and members of the paying public) between Manhattan and the Hamptons.
Scheduled flights take off from New York on Thursday and Fridays, and return on Sundays and Mondays from $495 one way. But then there’s the online Flight Board, a kind of aviation Russian Roulette where prices increase from $29 per seat booked, but nothing taking off until all eight seats are taken – so get in early and hope someone else shells out for the pricier places. Get your mates involved and charter the whole thing for yourselves and you can make it take you anywhere within a 300 mile radius, pets included.
Complimentary bottles of Reserve Sunset Beach rosé, Swedish Fish and in-flight goodie bags make a nice change from mini bottles of plonk and peanuts, whilst the cherry red Cessna really says you’ve arrived. Buckle up bitches.
