The Big Gay Ice Cream Truck has been touring the streets of NYC since 2009 under the direction of Doug and Bryan, delivering their special twist on soft serve with a smile. And whereas before you’d have to follow the duo’s Twitter feed or website to find out where they’d be heading, now you can go straight to the sauce (ho ho) in their very own fixed shop.
The difference is in the toppings, which range from the ‘Salty Pimp’ with dulce de leche and sea salt, and this’ll be the only place you can now find the famous Choinkwich a chocolate ice-cream sandwich smooshed between slices of caramelised bacon and cartwheel cookies.
Besides ice cream, you’ll find fresh coffee, macaroons and other sweet treats in the rainbow clad space dominated by a big gay unicorn mural. You can apologise for your dietary discretions in the usual manner, if it makes you feel better.
