THE STANDARD GRILL

If your rules in life include ‘If Anna Wintour eats there, I too must eat there’ you’ll be pleasantly surprised to find The Standard Grill included on her grazing menu of places to indulge in a plate of rocket. (Salad, not fuel – though, let’s face it, the shrew must run on something more powerful than Italian greens…) The sprawling bistro at the bottom of The Standard Hotel has become quite the celebrity honeypot, though it keeps things (aesthetically at least) rustic looking with checkered tablecloths and paper bags of fresh bread on the table. The feeling is artisanal, homemade and somehow terribly chic (might have something to do with the half a million copper pennies stuck to the floor), with old-fashioned cocktails buffering a menu of charcuterie, burgers, salads, sides, and of course steak, all of which can be consumed at the bar, the outdoor space or in the main dining room.
