Working Class is an ad agency who’ve taken their commercial know-how to the next level with an own-range of intriguing products at this fantastic factory space-turned-shop. Perhaps it’s because they haven’t had life handed to them on a golden platter, but with time spared not sucking on a silver spoon, boy, haven’t they been very industrious.
Of course, with marketing minds behind the magic, the gimmicks are second-to-none: Perfumes in eye-dropper dispensers, rain slickers in Mummy and Daddy sizes as well as picnic baskets, hot water bottles, wallets, t-shirts, toys, china and English school-style satchels in candy colours.
Also for sale are scarves knitted by the owner’s mother in Yorkshire (it’s run by Brit David Metcalf) but if you like a label, then you’ll find Paul Smith, Lulu Guinness and Rachel Ashwell in-store too. Sometimes it actually pays to live like common people. Someone tell Pulp, there could be a comeback in this.
