The legendary amusement park Coney Island has been through more loopty loops than its famed roller coasters. Fears were raised last year when Astroland was sold, but we’re happy to report it has not been replaced with high end condos (yet), but with a smaller, still fun playground Luna Park – and new rides such as the Air Race, the Eclipse, the Electro Spin, the Tickler.
None of these come close to the most famous roller coaster, Astroland’s mercifully spared “Cyclone” which still provides rickety scares beside Luna Park. Don’t miss Coney’s boardwalk’s for greasy carny food, and to shoot a trapped fugitive with paintballs in the absolutely un-pc game “Shoot the Freak”!
