Belmont Park is one of America’s most important horse racing tracks and home of the Belmont Stakes, the third and final leg of the Triple Crown, a legendary race for thoroughbred three-year olds (horses, not toddlers). It’s also a perfectly pleasant and laid-back day out. Despite its long history and pedigree, it’s a fairly casual affair. Elegant attire is only required for club house entry and on the actual day of the Stakes, otherwise you’re free to bring your cooler and bubbly for a casual picnic on the trackside lawn.
