New Yorkers are never at home. And chances are, if you’re coming to the Big Apple, you may not be spending a lot of time in your new home-away-from-home either. Maybe all you need is a clean, comfortable place to sleep at night. This 200 room “micro-hotel”, a former single-occupancy residence renovated by Sean MacPherson and Eric Goode (nightlife big-wigs known for hot spots such as The Waverly Inn, The Maritime, and Bowery Bar), offers rooms with AC, telephone, flat screen TV with cable, along with fresh linens and towels. Think of it as booking a hotel bed, instead of an entire hotel room (bathrooms and showers are communal, but pristine), and while rooms are small, the full-length wall mirrors give them size. The hotel features a fabulous lounge bar and an English-style pub for all hours drinking adjacent to the lobby, as well as an outpost of NoLita’s legendary Café Gitane whose river views and black-and-white tiled floors make a perfect setting for a weekend brunch or lunch if you're in the hood.
