Whether it’s been a cunning PR ploy to build interest, or just a total lack of organisational skills on the part of his variously employed ‘Apprentice’ winners, Trump’s long-awaited hotel has been teasing the industry with launch dates for months. But finally, the grand glassy tower which looms over Spring Street’s otherwise low-level housing has opened.
The rooms are all exclusively decked out by Fendi Casa and have views over the Hudson River, Empire State Building and the Statue of Liberty, whilst visitors to the spa (with reasonably-sized gym) can make use of the henna-expert they’ve got on board. Then of course, there’s the service, courtesy of Trump Attaché, who are at your beck and call 24/7 for mini-bar emergencies and stationary dilemmas.
Dining options include the Quattro Gastronomia Italia, leisure can be found on the 7th floor outdoor pool deck and a library fully stocked by Taschen, and the in-house bar, Kastel, promises to serve up impeccable cocktails in sexy boardroom-style, masculine surroundings before the velvet rope gets erected over the Fendi furniture around 10pm. Sing it now, ‘Money money money money…. Mon-Ay!’
