A favorite with LES kids is the former erotic Chinese massage parlor-cum-bar (sorry) Happing Ending. This bi-level club features a violet-lit lounge upstairs and a seedy/charming downstairs with a DJ, bar and old steam rooms to hang out in. The crowd is unpretentious with a cool, art school vibe, though none of that airy fairy liberalism really helps make the communal steam room-thing less creepy – unless, of course, you’re used to it.
