Griffin's classy interiors - large mirrors, chandeliers, blue velvet banquettes and turn-of-the-century detailing - draw in People friendly (magazine, not actual humans) patrons who seem to love the fancy drinks, including not-so-classy punch bowls served at your table for up to ten people.
No such decadence on Sundays which are now gay (except during the summer) courtesy of Fire Island promoters Brian Rafferty and hottie Shawn Paul Mazur who manage to draw in a diverse crowd of hotties. Forget about being fashionably late: the party gets going early thanks to the crisis-friendly open (free) bar from 19-20.
