Located on the section of Fifth Avenue known as Museum Mile, and designed by Frank Lloyd Wright, the iconic teacup-shaped building is one of the world’s greatest museums of modern art housing works by artists such as Picasso, Miro, Van Gogh, Kandinsky and Chagall. Race down the main spiral staircase for an express visit, or get a floor plan and spend half a day exploring the galleries in a proper manner– a group tour or the self guided audio tour come recommended. Try going early during the week (but note that it’s closed on Tuesdays) for a less crowded experience as the place gets mobbed on the weekends.
