Reigning title-holder of ‘Europe’s largest market’ (though we really feel like we’ve heard Paris boast something similar in a kind of inter-city pissing contest), El Rastro is nearly five centuries old and houses stalls selling the usual treasures and tat, bargains and rip-offs, antiques and souvenirs. As with any market, the beauty is in the eye, and the skill, of the beholder so be prepared to trawl, haggle, and cling tightly to your man purse.
