OLé LOLA

An extravagant dream of a Spain through romantic eyes – Ole Lola’s sumptuous baroque interior (designed by one of the three owners) pulls on the traditional but keeps it refreshingly modern. Oval-framed portraits of bullfighters and plañideras (hired mourners) grace the walls as if shot for a Nylon magazine spread, big velvet sofas line the walls, and a glowing blue crucifix hangs against a gold quilted backdrop. The same twist on the classic goes for the kitchen, where creative tapas arrive in paper pyramids with names like Lola se va a los puertos (Lola goes to the ports), a reference to the 1929 Machado Brothers play.
