France may only be a hop and a skip away, but a trip par Easyjet might be pushing it just for a proper Gallic brunch. Head over to Le Petit Bistrot instead where sunshiney yellow walls are adorned with faded postcard-style paintings of Le Tour Eiffel and beaten copper pots, the country’s oenophilia is well represented via wine racks, caraffes and barrels, and the menu is practically a parody; escargots, deep fried cheeses, foie gras, steak tartare and crème brûlée all threaten an early heart attack, which, after the night you’ve just had, may be a blessing.
