An institution since 1966, Café Oliver probably has more stories to tell than your loose-lipped grandmother after her ritual Christmas sherry. Cosy red banquettes line latticed windows with great views of the street, vintage posters adorn the walls, and slightly beaten wooden dressers hold enough glassware for a banquet. And yet the brunch is unashamedly fuss-free, offering fresh juice, eggs done three different ways, pastries, toasts, pancakes and for the seriously peckish, cheeseburgers.
