They’ve got a Monocle magazine on display at the counter, and you wonder if they might have been featured in it. This is certainly the kind of store that we’d imagine Tyler Brûlé liking.
Like the swish Canadian tastemaker, the store is an image of Anglophile perfection, from the dandy wallpaper and retro chic carrier bags, to the carefully selected collections (including some very wearable Comme des Garçons and delectable Italian Anderson’s belts) and the dapper clientele that it attracts. Handsome boys peruse the goods and look as delectable as the goods on display. So un-Madrid, so very Conde Duque-esque, true to the core of the hip neighbourhood where it’s located.
For a younger, more sporty collection, head to its aptly named Sportivo sister store around the corner, and for limited edition footwear, trainer specialist Duke round off this cool trio on the next block.
