They say there’s no gain without pain, and it’s doubtful anybody’s ever suffered from carpet burn because of previously unpleasurable circumstances. If it’s not a roll around on your partner’s pile that’s doing it for you, then check out this monthly affair at Eagle.
The Saturday night shindig kicks off every month with a mix of 80s and 90s pop classics, a bit of Italo and some disco for some light-hearted liaisons. The line up is certainly ace: PAs such as Pete Burns, Steve Strange and Jaki Graham, and the likes of Severino taking to the decks and Jonny Woo rocking up to give his own rendition of some 80s classics. For this NYE special, Readers Wives are on the decks!
It’s a welcome change from the banging techno and head-shattering electro more likely to be playing in Vauxhall’s cavernous clubs. Thanks to its less hardcore musical ethos, the crowd here tends to be more varied, but just as fun. If you’re rubbing your knees come morning, you’ve done it right.
