Arguably the biggest event in the UK’s gay calendar, Brighton Pride is a chance to let loose in the country’s capital of camp. Last year’s theme was ‘Out of This World’, with revellers encouraged to turn up in their most outrageous outfits (or lack thereof) and gay the entire day away. This year being the 20th anniversary isn't expected to be any more grounded.
The main event takes place on Saturday September 1 (extraordinarily late due to the Olympics) in Preston Park with live entertainment and a huge parade from 11am complete with floats and fairies. If you fancy heading down to the city beforehand and making a mini-break of it, there are plenty of satellite events taking place during the week too.
