|How to get there||
Take the train or DLR service to Greenwich or Cutty Sark, both fare zone 2. Thames Clipper RB1 river bus service to Greenwich from Tower Pier, Blackfriars Pier, Victoria Embankment Pier and London Eye Pier every 20 minutes.
Whilst still officially a part of London, Greenwich has that much-sought after benefit of feeling a million miles out of the Big Smoke.
Home to Meantime, The Royal Observatory (where you can straddle The Meridian if you fancy it; less kinky than it sounds but you’ll have one foot in the East and one in the West), the great clipper Cutty Sark and The National Maritime Museum (with plenty of seafaring history for you landlubbers).
It also has a beautiful park to stroll through and a more unusual selection of shops than you’ll find in the high-street hell holes. Go for a bite (Greenwich Market for inexpensive street food, Inside or Rivington Grill for something fancier) and cap it all off by taking the boat home from Greenwich Pier and ticking off London’s attractions from the Thames.
