Turns out you don’t need to be under a Big Top to put on a show – you only need to crack your ringmaster’s whip in the direction of Covent Garden. Circus is one of the city’s newest cabaret/dining concepts, where Pan-American food is served in Tom Dixon designed interiors (think surreal kaleidoscopic mirrors, giant silver balls suspended from the ceiling and flamingo-shaped table legs) and comes with a hefty side of performance art. The night’s entertainment is never revealed beforehand, but acts have included fire-breathing ballerinas, aerial artists and half-naked dancers running riot on the central ‘Stage Table’, whilst everything gets pushed back and the DJs take their turn once dinner service is over and the space becomes a club.
