Whilst the pop-up concept may have run its course, the feeling of secrecy and exclusivity is still as sought after as ever. We just no longer want it in a temporary shop front made of corrugated cardboard. The Loft Project is one of London’s newest, and best kept, secrets, offering up dinners for 16 people at a time in the intimate environs of Nuno Mendes’ own apartment. The man behind Bacchus, and a disciple of Ferran Adrià, invites guest chefs to take up a residency and showcase their individual brands of cooking via a ten course tasting menu and alcohol to match. And whilst yes, this did start as a ‘temporary installment’, it’s now become a going concern for Londoners in the know.
