Shoreditch may be awash with Vietnamese restaurants, but Cay Tre remains the most popular of the lot, with queues often backing into the street. A recent refurbishment includes lovely dark wood furniture and monochrome, Asian illustrated wallpaper underneath angled mirrors. People continue to come for the fresh ingredients, unbelievable prices, and authentic flavours in old favourites like classic pho, as well as the pyro-joy of receiving a griddle at your table and being left to your own grilling devices.
