Nothing cures a morning-after head like a thick, alcohol-tinged milkshake and some chips. Especially at ten in the morning. As authentic as it gets without a pregnant waitress names Sue-Ellen waiting the tables, the Diner now has several outposts around London – but this is still our favourite. Big, butt-worn maroon booths spread over two tiers make the perfect slumping place to listen to old school rock and contemplate last night’s proceedings over pancakes, waffles, burgers and bloody marys.
