Recently named the best hotel in the world for ‘party people’, The Andaz is still a bit of a mystery to most Londoners. Part of the Hyatt group, the Victorian red-brick’s USP is all about effortless luxury, with check-in happening via a laptop in the lobby, ‘healthy’ mini-bars in the red, white and black rooms, and no less than five restaurants and five bars to choose from. Which seems odd for a hotel in The City, praised for being so close to the happening areas around Shoreditch and near enough to the West End for a wide range of entertainment. Recent developments have seen the Andaz doing more in terms of in-house offerings, with their Summer garden featuring indoor grass and park benches, and hip restaurant chain Bistrotheque opening a pop-up during London Restaurant Week.
