You need to get away but the budget literally blows – best to step into this little bar where the emphasis is always on a total escape from the real world. Whether it’s Wedding Disco complete with bride, garlands and cake, Wednesday's Trannyoke (yes, tranny karaoke), or a good old dance night courtesy of Babe, the crowd is always fashionably dressed, though nothing is taken too seriously. A mixed group of gays, straights and girly companions get subjected to big plasma screens in every corner, constantly churning out music videos (including some classic clangers; Kylie and Jason anyone?) and DJs choose pop and dance above anything else. It’s one of the favourites on the Soho circuit, and deservedly so; where else can you hear Madonna’s ‘Holiday’ and actually celebrate not being abroad?
